The Follo line (Follobanen) is a new double-track line that will run between Oslo Central Station and Ski station. The double track will meet the need for increased capacity through the southern corridor when the current railway and road system is overloaded. The introduction to Oslo S is very demanding, partly because of the presence of buildings worthy of preservation, conservation of cultural layers above and below ground, and several residential areas that must be taken into account.
Brekke & Strand has investigated the noise and vibrations for the planning of the Follo line between Oslo S and Ekebergåsen. A new rail link is planned through an area with residential, cultural and leisure areas. Noise levels have been assessed for both the operational phase and the construction phase.
